Substantial benefits from thin air


The Haru Oni project demonstrates a broad spectrum of innovative, climate-relevant technologies at one location.

 

Synthetic fuel is produced from water, wind energy và CO2 captured from the air. It is a liquid energy carrier that emits about 90% less CO2 than the fossil counterpart. In case of e-gasoline, it is simultaneously compatible with existing liquid fuel infrastructure.

What's next for expedition Haru Oni?


With the Haru Oni pilot plant, we are establishing our first outpost on the journey to lớn decarbonizing the transport sector. This is just the beginning, but we have sầu high hopes for this flat landscape.

 

In the pilot phase, e-methanol production will initially reach around 750,000 liters per year by 2022. Part of the e-methanol will be converted khổng lồ e-gasoline (130,000 liters per year). A further two phases will increase capacity: first to lớn 55 million liters of e-gasoline per year by 2024, & then khổng lồ over 550 million liters per year by 2026. That"s enough fuel for over one million people to drive their cars climate-neutral for nearly a year.
